History

Unicast Company has been in operation since 1894. The company is an ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan), with 100% employee participation. Unicast Company has superior financial strength as demonstrated by our historical unleveraged structure including the ESOP.

Unicast Company has provided its broad base of global customers with engineered and customer designed, high quality gray & ductile iron castings from thin-walled decorative to multi-cored heavy, ranging in weight from a few ounces to 500 pounds. Currently we make over 3,000 different parts for over 150 customers in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Europe. Unicast is recognized for consistently providing aggressive pricing, superior delivery, excellent quality and unparalleled service. Versatility is the key throughout our foundry operations.

Unicast Company is very well positioned for the future and continues to work on the issues that make a difference. We are ISO 9001:2008 certified and qualified.

Unicast Company continues to meet delivery requirements at a rate greater than 99% on-time, which possibly represents the best historical record for any foundry. Traditionally, our lead time is two weeks for non-cored castings and three weeks for cored castings. Orders can be processed more quickly if required.

We utilize automatic molding machines, a cope and drag line and green sand floor molding. Unicast has a pattern shop for wood, metal and urethane patterns. We can also provide heat treating, machining, painting, plating and other value added services. Finally, we source castings overseas for a number of customers.
